A richer version than the classic bread pudding.
Ingredients
- Brioche (thick)
- English cream or milk
- Eggs
- Vanilla sugar
- Red fruits
- Butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the crème anglaise or milk, then add the vanilla sugar until the mixture is smooth.
- Soak each slice of brioche in the preparation one by one, letting it absorb for a few seconds on each side without over-soaking.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then cook the slices of brioche 2 to 3 minutes per side, until they are well browned.
- Meanwhile, warm the red fruits gently in a small saucepan or with a little sugar in a pan, if needed, until they are lightly cooked but still beautiful.
- Place the golden brioche on plates, garnish with warm red fruits, and serve immediately.
- Add a sprinkle of powdered sugar at serving time, if desired.
