This Korean-style pork, inspired by bulgogi, is tender, flavorful and slightly spicy.
Ingredients
- Pork
- 1/2 sliced onion
- 2 finely chopped green onions
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- Fresh grated ginger
- Soy sauce
- Sugar or honey
- Sesame oil
- Korean chili paste
- Red pepper flakes
- Sesame seeds
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sugar (or honey), sesame oil, gochujang, garlic and ginger.
- Add the ground pork and mix well to coat each piece.
- Add the sliced onion and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Cook the marinated pork for 8 to 10 minutes until it's nicely browned and cooked through.
- Add green onions towards the end of cooking and mix well.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds before serving.
- Note: Serve with white rice and kimchi for an authentic experience. Adjust the level of spiciness to your taste by modifying the amount of gochujang or pepper.
